You won't find a  "one size fits all" approach here. My custom portrait sessions are a collaborative work where personality, location, lighting and wardrobe each play a part in telling a story. Here in Iowa, we live in a place saturated in beauty. The rippling landscapes, weathered barns, waving tall grasses and majestic, wide open skies inspire me as much as the messy play rooms, lived-in kitchens and warm homes where my clients live out each day of their lives. Whether families laughing together, breathtaking brides and the men who love them, stunning high school seniors who have grown up too fast, or intensely expressive children, I specialize in finding and displaying the beauty in each of my clients. As a mother of four small children (ages six and under), when I try to remember the little joys and details of the past several years I mostly see a blur. That's why I am thankful for images of our family.  They preserve my memory of the stance of a determined little girl just learning to walk, the wisps of hair blowing wild and free before a little boy's first haircut, fingers stuck in a mouth for comfort before keeping them out became a battle, and little, kissable toes before they ever met dirt and mud and became stinky big boy feet. I cherish these images because these are the small joys that made all the hardships bearable. I long to capture the fleeting details in your life, so that you, too, can remember the joys you shared together, especially when life is difficult.
