Moving Pains

This is harder than I thought it would be… and I thought it would be rough.

But after 14 years in Prairie City, Iowa, my family is relocating to Alameda, California this June.

That means Katherine McClure Photography is relocating, too!

I keep saying we are happy/sad.

We are so happy for the unique ministry opportunity that God has opened for Matthew there! And we are so sad to leave our wonderful friends and community here.

I am so happy for the opportunity to build my business in a new location! And am SO SAD to leave my clients and beautiful studio here.

For now, I am still booking sessions until May 12. I have a few families and high school seniors I will complete before the move, and am unsure of how often I will fly back for portrait work in the future. I have always done some travel for work, and I love travel for pleasure, so don’t panic if we had talked about something a bit further out on the calendar.

Ugh. Happy/sad is hard.

But helping people love themselves in portraits, and decorating homes with love, has always brought me joy. So if you want to give me a little joy in the next few weeks, let’s create beautiful things, together.
